Information
An orbit is defined as the path one heavenly or celestial body takes as it travels around another.
Use this animation to examine the orbit of the Moon about the Earth, and the Earth and Moon about the Sun. Please Note. These drawings are NOT TO SCALE.

Notice that the orbits are not circular, but elliptical.
