Wind Speed will be measured
by using an electronic device called a Turbometer.
The turbometer is held so that wind blows through the back of the meter,
and the wind speed in knots is read directly from the scale.
Directions for Use.
-
If possible, select a position where a steady flow of wind is occurring.
-
Move the slide switch to the desired scale, and turn the machine on.
-
Hold the Turbometer into the wind, and wait about 4 seconds to get a steady
reading. You can tell the wind direction from the direction of loose sand
is blown.
-
Record the wind speed in your data sheet.
