Different Kinds of Cells II
Fungal cells have a cell membrane, a cell wall, mitochondria to produce energy and a nucleus. They are called eukaryotes because they have a proper nucleus.
Plant cells have a cell membrane, a cell wall, a nucleus, mitochondria, a vacuole for water storage and chloroplasts containing
chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is the material that allows plants to do their trick of using energy from the sun to convert water from the soil and carbon dioxide from the air into sugar and oxygen.
Animal cells do not have a cell wall, a large vacuole or chloroplasts. Their vacuoles are usually quite small and they have cell membranes.
