It is very difficult to use static electricity as an energy source
because we do not have a constant flow of charge.
To have a constant flow of charge we need three things
-
a source of electical energy e.g. a battery
-
a continuous circuit to allow the flow
of electric charge
-
a component to convert the electrical energy into some other form of
energy we want to use. This component is called the load.
Look at the diagram opposite. Are the three requirements satisfied?
Why does the bulb glow?
This site explains it very well!!!
