The heart is actually
two
pumps in one.
The right side of the heart pumps deoxygenated, carbon dioxide loaded blood returning from the body through the lungs.
The left side pumps oxygenated blood returning from the lungs through the body.
Remember.
Blood vessels carrying blood away from the heart are arteries.(arteries away)
Blood vessels carrying blood to the heart are veins.
valves
prevent blood from flowing backwards.
